A new kind of local paper

A daily paper.
For life here.

The stories your community shares. The details that matter to you. A clear place to start—and a good place to stop.

01 / The daily edition

A front page
we have in common.

Common is being built around an editor-selected daily edition: local reporting, relevant state and national stories, and personal layers around a shared view of the day.

01

Start where you live.

Choose a place and a few interests. See what matters across your community, alongside the issues and institutions you follow.

02

Know what’s behind it.

Read the full report. Explore public sources, reporting credits and updates. Understand what changed and why it matters.

03

Reach a real ending.

A dated edition with a beginning and an end. Follow ongoing stories without turning today’s paper into an endless feed.

02 / A closer look

Your paper.
Your kind of morning.

Read deeply, listen on the move, or take a quick look. Each format leads back to the same reporting.

The story.
And the story
behind it.

Start with the essentials, stay for the detail. Public sources and a visible update history help you understand the reporting.

Take the paper with you

Your town.
In your own time.

An edition briefing for the walk, the commute or the kitchen. Selected captioned reels offer another way into a story, with the full report close by.

Audio and reel experiences are part of the planned first version.

Keep a thread going

Today ends.
The story
continues.

Follow the issues that stay with you. Return to meaningful developments, then put the paper down knowing you’re caught up.

Saved stories and followed issues are planned for local use, with optional account sync.

03 / The reporting comes first

A little more context.
A lot more common ground.

Common Newsroom is the reader app from Common Publishing. Its planned reporting foundation is Common Newswire, with stories prepared, reviewed and published by Common’s reporters and editors.

People behind the paper.

The planned experience identifies reporting and editing credits, acknowledges AI assistance where used, and carries corrections through affected formats.

Your questions belong.

A moderated question channel is part of the app concept. Sensitive tips will have a separate intake process. Ordinary support email is not that channel.
